Highlights & Balayage on Cape Cod

Bright, dimensional foils and soft, hand-painted balayage — placed by Goldwell master colorists who know how to lift Cape Cod hair without wrecking it. Whether you want all-over brightness or a lived-in blend, we build it around your hair and your upkeep.

Highlights, Simplified

What’s the Difference Between Highlights and Balayage?

Two ways to add brightness — we’ll help you pick the one that fits your hair and routine.

Highlights and balayage both add lightness and dimension, but they get there differently — and the right choice depends on how bright you want to go and how often you want to sit in the chair. During your consultation we’ll look at your natural color, your hair’s condition, and the upkeep you actually want before we place a single foil.

Foil highlights are painted onto sections and wrapped in foil to lift hair evenly and brightly from the root — ideal for maximum brightness and full gray blending. Balayage is hand-painted freehand for a softer, sun-kissed look with a grown-out root, so it needs fewer touch-ups.
Most of our color clients land somewhere in between — a partial foil around the face for brightness, or a balayage for a low-maintenance summer look that carries into fall. We’ll show you both so you leave with a plan, not a guess.

What We Offer

Our Cape Cod Highlighting Services

Partial Foil Highlights

Foils placed through the top and around the face for brightness where it shows most — a lower-commitment way to lighten.

Balayage

Hand-painted, freehand color for a graduated, natural-looking effect with a soft grow-out and fewer salon visits.

Face-Framing & Babylights

Fine, delicate highlights for a soft, brightening effect that grows out beautifully.

Full Foil Highlights

Highlights, lowlights, or both placed through the entire head for uniform, all-over brightness and dimension.

Ombré & Sombré

A gradual blend from darker roots to lighter ends — bold or subtle, blended to flatter your length.

Toner & Gloss

A finishing tone to knock out brass and lock in the exact shade — the step that makes blondes look expensive.

Highlights & Foils FAQs

Common questions about foils, balayage, and keeping blonde bright.
How much do highlights cost at New Image?
Partial foils start at $140 and full foils at $160. Balayage and bigger lightening sessions are quoted at your consultation, since they depend on length, density, and how light you’re going.
A partial foil usually runs about two hours, and a full foil or balayage with toning and a blow-dry two to three hours or more. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Full foils are typically refreshed every six to eight weeks, while balayage can stretch to three or four months because it grows out softly. Face-framing foils in between keep you bright.
Not when they’re done right. Our colorists lift carefully and finish with the proper toner and care recommendations so your hair stays healthy and shiny.
Yes. A toner or gloss can refresh brassy blonde fast, and we handle grown-out or uneven highlights with a corrective plan built at your consultation.
